If efficiency and economy are your goal, the TS5 18-inch wheel and tire package is designed around exactly that mission. Downsizing from the factory 19x9.5 inch Model Y wheel to the 18x8.5 inch TS5 reduces both wheel mass and tire frontal area while maintaining proper Tesla-specific fitment.
At approximately 22.25 lbs per wheel, the TS5 saves about 7.5 lbs per wheel versus the referenced factory 19-inch setup, for approximately 30 lbs of wheel-weight reduction per vehicle. The narrower 18-inch tire package also reduces frontal area, supporting a more efficiency-focused setup.
The smaller 18-inch wheel diameter creates room for additional tire sidewall, improving ride comfort over rough pavement and providing more cushioning against pothole impacts and curb contact. The result is a lightweight, comfortable and practical Model Y setup designed for everyday use.
One square 18x8.5" wheel fitment with the two tire-size paths standardized in our Model Y 18-inch package template. Choose the tire size that best matches your priorities for range, ride comfort, handling and curb protection.
Tire availability varies by size and current inventory.

The TS5 18x8.5" wheel is one inch smaller in diameter and one inch narrower than the referenced factory 19x9.5" Model Y wheel. T Sportline cites tire frontal-area reduction from approximately 280 to 265 square inches per tire, supporting an efficiency-focused setup.
At approximately 22.25 lbs per wheel, the TS5 saves about 7.6 lbs per wheel versus the referenced factory 19-inch setup, for approximately 30.4 lbs of wheel-weight reduction per vehicle.
The smaller wheel diameter provides room for a taller tire sidewall, adding cushioning over rough pavement and potholes while increasing wheel protection compared with larger-diameter, lower-profile setups.
TS5 wheels are Flow Forged and tested to JWL, VIA and SAE J2530 standards.
The 18x8.5" square setup uses the same wheel and tire size at all four corners, allowing conventional front-to-rear tire rotation.
The TS5 is an 18-inch alternative to the factory 19-inch Model Y wheel, 20-inch wheel and 21-inch Performance wheel. View our Tesla Model Y Wheel Guide.
