Tire Information
Description
T Sportline is the exclusive source for Tesla's overstock winter wheel and tire assemblies. These are new old stock tires (overstock), meaning they were not manufactured in the past 12 months.
Please note that because these are special, discounted overstock offerings, tire DOT date codes can vary and may not be from the current calendar year. This does not present a functional issue with a properly stored new tire. However, we want to be completely transparent about what you're purchasing. Below, we explain tire age, storage conditions, and DOT date codes in more detail so you can make an informed decision before purchasing a set.
Yes. Tires age very differently in storage than they do once installed on a vehicle. Our tires are stored unmounted in a temperature-controlled warehouse, protected from the primary conditions that accelerate tire aging.
| Aging Factor | Exposure During Warehouse Storage |
|---|---|
| UV / Sunlight | None |
| High Pavement Temperatures | None |
| Heat Cycling | Next to None |
| Mechanical Flexing | None |
| Vehicle Load | None |
| Inflation Pressure | None |
| Road Chemicals | None |
| Water / Weather | None |
| Road / Impact Stress | None |
| Rubber Aging | Slow |
The DOT date code identifies when a tire was manufactured. For tires manufactured since 2000, the final four digits of the DOT Tire Identification Number indicate the week and year of manufacture. For example, 2523 means the tire was manufactured during the 25th week of 2023. The complete date code may appear on only one sidewall.
No. The DOT date code tells you when a tire was manufactured, not when it was installed or placed into service. A properly stored, unmounted tire experiences substantially different conditions than a tire that has spent the same amount of time installed on a vehicle.
Continental references industry guidance that generally distinguishes properly stored tires as follows:
| Tire Age | General Guidance for Properly Stored Tires |
|---|---|
| 0–3 Years | Considered brand new. |
| 3–5 Years | Properly stored tires can still be considered essentially new / good as new. |
| 5+ Years | No longer considered the same as new. Additional attention and inspection become appropriate. A qualified tire professional should assess condition and suitability before installation or use. Many major tire manufacturers recommend replacement at 10 years from manufacture, regardless of tread wear, and some recommend earlier replacement. |
Not necessarily. Inventory can include tires produced at different times, and we do not guarantee a specific DOT manufacture date unless the product listing specifically states otherwise. What matters is that the tire has been properly stored and remains in excellent, unused condition.
Absolutely. We 100% stand behind the tires we sell. We store our inventory properly and will not knowingly ship a tire that we believe is unsuitable for its intended use. If any issues relating to the date code do arise, we'll make it right!
No, not at all. These NOS tires are specifically identified as overstock inventory with older manufacture dates. Normally, T Sportline receives tire deliveries daily, and tire date codes are typically within 12 months of the order. However, any tires stored at T Sportline are always protected from the primary conditions that accelerate tire aging, as described above.

Can I use my Aero Covers / Hubcaps on the 18" TSS?
No, the Aero Covers / Hubcaps only fit on your factory wheels.
Do your TSS wheels fit my factory center caps?
Yes, 18x8.5" TSS wheels fit your factory Tesla center caps. They also fit your factory TPMS and your factory lug nuts. In other words, there's no need to use any aftermarket hardware.
How are the 18" TSS wheels made?
They are Flow Forged. The 18x8.5" TSS wheels are manufactured in a Flow Forged process. They are tested to the JWL, VIA, SAE J2530 & TÜV standard.
Do I need to change the color of my existing lug nuts and center caps to match my new TSS wheels?
That's an aesthetic decision only you can make. All TSS Wheels come with T Sportline color-matched center caps. For those who purchase Satin Black finish, we recommend purchasing our Lug Nut Cap Covers in Black for a stealth appearance.

Yes! We ship worldwide and offer flat rate FedEx/DHL shipping to select countries.
Will installing your Wheel & Tire Package void my warranty?
Changing wheels and tires won't void your Tesla warranty unless Tesla can prove that our wheels caused the need for repairs. Also, we use factory-size tires only. In other words, your warranty will still be valid when your windshield wiper malfunctions, even if you've upgraded to our Wheel & Tire Package.
