Highland Tesla Model 3 SnapPlate+ Instruction Guide

Tesla Model 3 Highland SnapPlate+ Installation Guide

Follow the instructions below to install and adjust your SnapPlate+ front license plate holder for the Tesla Model 3 Highland. SnapPlate+ provides a clean, removable front plate solution without drilling permanent holes into your Tesla.

Vehicle Application: This guide is for compatible 2024–2025 Tesla Model 3 Highland SnapPlate+ applications equipped with the push-button OPEN/CLOSE mounting mechanism.

    Installation Instructions

    OPEN Button

Located on the right side of the SnapPlate+ base. Press this button before inserting or removing the mount.

    CLOSE Button

Located on the left side of the base. Press this button after the mount is correctly positioned in the vehicle grille.

    1

    Choose Your Plate Height

SnapPlate+ is shipped in the high plate position by default. If you prefer the center or low position, make that adjustment before continuing with installation.

    2

    Install Your License Plate

Attach your front license plate to the SnapPlate+ frame using four of the supplied black or silver Torx security screws.

    3

    Press the OPEN Button

Press the OPEN button located on the right side of the SnapPlate+ base. This places the rotating mounting latches in their open position.

    4

    Insert SnapPlate+ Into the Grille

Insert the SnapPlate+ into the center of the lower grille.

Make sure the grille's vertical bar is aligned with the corresponding vertical slot in the SnapPlate+ mounting base.

The mount should sit naturally in the grille without needing to be forced into position.
    5

    Press the CLOSE Button

Once the mount is correctly seated, press the CLOSE button located on the left side of the base.

This rotates the latches into their locked position behind the grille.

Fit Check: If the CLOSE button is difficult to press completely, or if SnapPlate+ feels loose after closing, do not force the mechanism. Follow the Grille Depth Adjustment instructions below.
    6

    Verify the Mount Is Locked

Make sure the CLOSE button sits flush with the SnapPlate+ body.

A flush CLOSE button confirms that the locking mechanism is fully engaged and the internal magnets are holding the mechanism in its closed position.

Gently pull on the plate holder to confirm that it is secure before driving.

    7

    Optional Anti-Theft Security Screw

For additional security, tighten the black anti-theft screw located in the hole on the right side of the SnapPlate+ base.

The anti-theft screw typically requires approximately six full turns to lock or unlock. The screw does not need to be completely removed when unlocking the mount.
    8

    Remove Before Automated Car Washes

Remove your SnapPlate+ before using an automated car wash. Touchless washes are generally less likely to interfere with the mount, but removal is still recommended as the safest option.

    Plate Height Adjustment

The SnapPlate+ license plate frame can be configured in three vertical positions to adjust where the license plate sits relative to the front bumper.

    Center Position

Provides a balanced plate position between the high and low configurations.

    Low Position

Positions the license plate lower for a lower-profile appearance.

T Sportline Recommendation: Use the high position when possible to maximize open grille area and airflow.
    1

    Select the Desired Plate Position

SnapPlate+ arrives configured in the high position. Choose high, center, or low before installing the license plate.

    2

    Remove the Plate Mount

Remove the two screws securing the license plate mount to the SnapPlate+ base.

    3

    High Position

Position the plate mount so its lower mounting holes line up with the SnapPlate+ base, then reinstall the two screws.

    4

    Center Position

Align the center holes of the plate mount with the SnapPlate+ base and reinstall the two screws.

    5

    Low Position

Rotate the plate mount 180 degrees so the appropriate screw holes align with the SnapPlate+ base, then reinstall the screws.

    6

    Install the License Plate

If it has not already been installed, attach your license plate using four of the supplied black or silver Torx security screws.

    Grille Depth Adjustment

Minor variations in grille thickness may require the SnapPlate+ rotating latches to be adjusted. The included Torx tool allows you to fine-tune the mount for a secure fit.

    1

    Configure the Torx Driver

Remove the T10/T25 bit from the included screwdriver handle and reinstall it with the smaller T10 end facing outward.

    2

    Locate the Adjustment Screws

Locate the T10 Torx screw positioned in the center of each rotating mounting latch.

Loosen the latches if the CLOSE button is too difficult to operate. Tighten the latches if SnapPlate+ feels loose on the grille.

    3

If the Fit Is Too Tight

Turn each adjustment screw counterclockwise one-half turn.

Each half-turn loosens the mounting latch by approximately 0.25 mm.

After adjusting, gently pull each latch outward with your fingers to make sure it has extended. Then reinstall SnapPlate+ and test the fit.

Repeat the procedure in half-turn increments if necessary.

Important: Do not loosen the adjustment screws more than four half-turns, or two complete turns. Excessive adjustment may allow SnapPlate+ to become stuck in the grille and make removal difficult.
    4

If the Fit Is Too Loose

Turn each adjustment screw clockwise one-half turn.

Each half-turn tightens the latch by approximately 0.25 mm.

Reinstall SnapPlate+ and check the fit. Repeat in half-turn increments until the holder locks securely while the CLOSE button remains easy to operate.

Correct Installation: SnapPlate+ should sit securely against the grille without excessive movement, and the OPEN and CLOSE buttons should operate without excessive force.
