    Installation Instructions

    1

    Set Up the Torx Driver

Remove the double-ended T10/T25 bit from the included screwdriver handle and reinstall it with the larger T25 end facing outward.

    2

    Identify the Included Hardware

Locate the two types of screws included with your SnapPlate+:

The larger black or silver washer-head screws are used to secure the license plate. The smaller black round-head screws are used to attach the SnapPlate+ mounting bases to the plate frame.

Keep the two screw types separated during assembly. They are designed for different mounting locations.
    3

    Install Your License Plate

Attach your front license plate to the SnapPlate+ frame using four of the larger black or silver washer-head Torx security screws.

Make sure both the license plate and the SNAPPLATE logo on the plate mount are oriented right-side up before tightening the screws.
    4

Match the Mounting Bases to the Plate Frame

The two SnapPlate+ bases are position-specific.

Match the base marked I with the side of the plate mount marked I. Match the base marked II with the side marked II.

Installing the bases on the wrong sides may prevent the mount from aligning properly with the vehicle grille.
    5

    Attach the Mounting Bases

Use the smaller black round-head screws to attach each base to the plate mount.

For the standard low mounting position, install the screws in the upper and lower mounting holes for each base.

If the screws appear too short or do not fit correctly, verify that you are using the smaller round-head base screws rather than the larger license plate screws.

You can also position the license plate higher by moving the plate frame upward before installing the base screws. See the Plate Height Adjustment section below.

    6

    Position SnapPlate+ on the Vehicle

Align the vertical openings in both SnapPlate+ mounting bases with the corresponding vertical bars in the Tesla's lower grille.

Slide the SnapPlate+ onto the grille until both bases are properly seated.

You may press the OPEN buttons while installing the SnapPlate+, or simply slide the mount into place. The OPEN buttons can move automatically as the bases engage the grille.
    7

    Lock Both Mounting Bases

Push both bases firmly against the grille while pressing both CLOSE buttons.

You should feel some resistance as the latches secure themselves behind the grille, but the buttons should not require excessive force.

Do not force the CLOSE buttons. If either button is difficult to press, adjust the latch depth using the Grille Depth Adjustment procedure below.
    8

    Confirm Both Bases Are Locked

Make sure both CLOSE buttons sit flush with their respective SnapPlate+ bodies.

A flush button indicates that the mounting mechanism is fully locked and the internal magnets are engaged.

Give the plate holder a gentle pull to verify that both sides are secure before driving.

    9

    Optional Anti-Theft Security Screws

For additional security, tighten the black anti-theft screws located on the sides of both SnapPlate+ mounting bases.

Each security screw typically requires approximately eight full turns to lock or unlock. The screws do not need to be completely removed when unlocking the mount.
    10

    Remove Before Automated Car Washes

Remove your SnapPlate+ before entering an automated car wash. Touchless washes are generally less likely to contact the mount, but removal is still recommended as the safest option.

    Plate Height Adjustment

The SnapPlate+ plate frame can be moved vertically relative to the two mounting bases. This allows you to select a low, center, or high license plate position.

    Low Position

Uses the standard base mounting locations and positions the license plate lowest relative to the grille.

    Center Position

Move the plate mount upward and use the corresponding mounting holes to position the plate closer to the center of the bumper.

    1

    Low Position

Position both bases at the lowest plate-frame setting and install all four base mounting screws in the corresponding holes.

    2

    Center Position

Slide the plate frame upward to the center position, align the bases with the corresponding mounting holes, and install all four screws.

    3

    High Position

Slide the plate frame to its highest mounting position and secure both bases using the farthest available mounting holes.

The plate frame can be moved upward incrementally using the available mounting holes, allowing you to fine-tune the final plate height.

    Grille Depth Adjustment

Small variations in grille thickness may require adjustment of the SnapPlate+ sliding latches. The included Torx driver allows you to fine-tune each mounting base for the correct fit.

    1

    Configure the Torx Driver

Remove the T10/T25 bit from the screwdriver handle and reinstall it with the smaller T10 end facing outward.

    2

    Locate the Latch Adjustment Screws

Locate the T10 Torx screw in the center of each sliding latch on both mounting bases.

Loosen the latches if the CLOSE buttons are difficult to operate. Tighten them if the SnapPlate+ feels loose after installation.

    3

If the Fit Is Too Tight

Turn each adjustment screw counterclockwise one-half turn.

Each half-turn loosens or extends the latch by approximately 0.25 mm.

Gently pull each latch outward with your fingers to confirm that it has extended, then reinstall the SnapPlate+ and test the fit.

Repeat in half-turn increments as necessary.

Maximum adjustment: Do not loosen the adjustment screws more than four half-turns, or two complete turns, without contacting product support.
    4

If the Fit Is Too Loose

Turn each adjustment screw clockwise one-half turn.

Each half-turn tightens the latch by approximately 0.25 mm.

Reinstall the SnapPlate+ and test the fit. Repeat in half-turn increments until both sides lock securely without requiring excessive pressure on the CLOSE buttons.

Correct Fit: Both SnapPlate+ mounting bases should sit securely against the grille with minimal movement. The CLOSE buttons should require some resistance but should not be difficult to press.
