T Sportline engineers dove in when the Tesla Cybertruck launched and worked diligently to bring the first "DIY" vinyl wrap and PPF kits to market. Our approach was simple, the kits were properly designed and comprehensively detailed to include everything needed for success. We used the strategy for developing our DIY Window Tint Kits for Cybertruck. Our goal is to give you a meticulously complete kit with all the tools and supplies needed, along with high quality CNC-precision cut window tint patterns, comprehensive video instructions, and a success guarantee.
Our DIY kits include flat bed CNC-precision cut tint panels, with weeded edge margins for pro-like fitments and the easiest of installations. Each tint panel is designed from proprietary window templates created in-house by T Sportline design engineers and professional tint installation technicians. Our tint panels provide a proper edge margin once installed to ensure a balanced look and perfectly cut tint line. No 'cutting' or 'trimming' is required with T Sportline kits.
First timer with tint? No problem! Watch our step-by-step DIY video, specifically for Cybertruck (we don't use one generic video for all vehicles). We include ample practice panels, allowing you to get familiar with the film installation process before applying the final tint. And if you mess up on the final install, reach out to our support team and we'll work with you to guarantee success!
T Sportline Pro-Tip Install Notes:
Front Side Quarter Windows: These are the small windows on each side of the dashboard. Installing tint is easy, especially since the window has trim around it making alignment of the tint not super critical. We recommend tinting these the same % as you apply to the front door windows.
Front and Rear Door Windows: Generally easy to tint. The important step is aligning the tint properly, which is not too difficult. Follow our video instructions.
Rear Cab Window: This is more difficult to tint only because it's harder to reach. The rear seats are obstacles you need to work around while installing the tint.
Sun Visor Strip: This is a 7" strip that runs across the top edge of the windshield. Generally easy to install. It comes in two pieces, split on both sides of the rear view mirror. This is only offered in 15% tint.
Optional Install Tools & Supply Kit
We have curated all the tools and supplies required for successful installation. The tools are offered optionally, which is a savings for those who already have these items. Note, heat guns are not necessary for the Cybertruck windows (they are flat). The optional tool kit includes:
How Tesla Window Tint Shade Works
Tint shade is most commonly measured by the percent of light which is transmitted through the window. This measurement is call visible light transmittance (VLT) percentage. For instance, 25% VLT means 25% of visible light will transmit through the film. Keep in mind, VLT measurements can vary by a couple percent (+/- 3% or more is generally accepted), this is not an exact science and your 'eye' cannot detect the difference between a few percent VLT difference. Even after tinting front quarter and door windows, at times the Sunlight entering from the windshield or roof glass may make tinted front door and quarter windows appear to be a lighter shade of tint than the rear door windows - this is normal.
Stock Cybertruck Window VLT Ratings (Nominal):
If you order rear door window tint, please understand it will be adding darkness to the already factory 25% tinted rear door windows. This will result in extreme darkness, or 'limo darkness' on the rear door windows, making it very difficult to see inside through these windows. It will also be very difficult to see out through these windows, especially at night.
Window Tint Offerings and Legality:
Legal limits for window tint vary State-to-State and by window location on the vehicle. Typically, local laws will define tint limits by window placement. Often, no darkness can legally be added to windshields, front door or side windows are limited to 35%, and rear windows have no limits or allow darker tint. T Sportline advises customers to complying with local regulations which are typically defined to ensure adequate and safe night or low light visibility. Please confirm your local laws before ordering, this is your responsibility exclusively - T Sportline will not be liable for your decisions.
Tint Shade Offerings:
35% - This is the most common option for front door and front side quarter windows. this provides a good balance of tint benefits while not being as dark as factory rear door window tint.
25% - This shade simply matches the factory rear door window tint. This shade is dark enough to make night time visibility challenging for most drivers.
15% - This creates extreme darkness. Night time visibility will be very challenging. Proceed with caution, only if you're familiar with what you're ordering.
