    The Tesla Roaster Turns 15

The original Tesla Roadster turns 15 this week. The Roadster was credited for helping put Tesla on the forefront of the EV revolution, there’s still no sign of the new version that Tesla promised.

When the new Tesla Roadster was unveiled as a concept in November 2017, CEO Elon Musk touted some very impressive performance numbers for this car, including a 60-mph time of 1.9 seconds, a top speed of more than 250 mph, and a quarter-mile time of just 8.8 seconds.

At the time of the unveiling, Musk said that it would come to market in 2020. The Roadster has been delayed multiple times since 2017. Musk has stated that it is not a priority for Tesla. While we have not heard much about the Roadster, the automaker still lists the production as “in development” at a location “to be determined.”
