Tesla (TSLA) has unveiled a premium silver paint choice dubbed Lunar Silver for its flagship Model S luxury sedan and Model X luxury SUV. This introduction addresses a longstanding desire among Tesla enthusiasts in North America, who have eagerly awaited a silver option since the company rolled out Quicksilver in Europe back in 2022. Responding to popular demand, Tesla recently incorporated Quicksilver into its lineup for the Model Y electric SUV in the US.

Now, Tesla has outfitted the paint shop at its Fremont car factory to accommodate the Lunar Silver color for both the Model S and Model X. It should be noted that the Fremont factory is the only Tesla manufacturing plant in the US where the automaker produces Model S and Model X electric vehicles.

Available to Tesla customers worldwide, Lunar Silver for the Model S and Model X comes with an extra price tag of $2,500 in the United States.
