The Tesla Semi has been refreshed with design and efficiency updates before its volume production officially begins. The exterior now features a new full-width light bar along with a reworked bumper, new aerodynamic channels, and supplementary cameras near the doors. Tesla also announced that the truck is more efficient than before and has an increased payload capacity.
The updated Semi retains its key performance metrics, including a 500-mile range, achieving 1.7 kWh per mile, and delivering 1072 horsepower. Its fast-charging capability remains at 1.2 megawatts, allowing it to gain 70% of its range in 30 minutes. Furthermore, the truck is now described as "designed for autonomy." Elon Musk stated that volume production is expected to start next year at the new Nevada factory.
