Tesla has released their first software update of 2023. While it doesn’t add as many features as the last update of 2022, it is a good start to the year.

The 2023.2.0.5 Software Update that is currently rolling out does bring a few enhancements to some features like how Sentry Mode works and auto steering wheel heat.

Here are the details:

Sentry Mode Lighting
With this update the headlights are still used when Sentry Mode is triggered, but will 'softly pulse' instead of flashing once. This soft pulse will start when recording begins and will stop after 60 seconds or when the vehicle is unlocked, whichever occurs first.

Auto Steering Wheel Heat
Owners of cars with heated steering wheels can now control the temperature of the wheel. Instead of an on and off setting, there is now an automated setting that adjusts the temperature of the steering wheel to match the cabin temperature.

As the new software update has begun to roll out in Tesla’s customer fleet,  it may take a few days to even a few weeks for it to reaches everyone.
