Tesla has begun rolling out its new Supervised Full Self-Driving (FSD) update, v12.4.3, to a broader audience after extensive testing.
This update, delayed by several months, is expected to bring significant improvements. Elon Musk claims it could allow drivers to go a year between interventions, though this remains to be seen.
The update is initially reaching 1-5% of eligible vehicles, with more waves expected soon. Despite Musk's optimism, there are concerns about the pace of progress and the consistency of improvements.
According to TeslaScope, over 500 Tesla owners in North America have now received v12.4.3. This wide release marks the first since v12.3.6, as Tesla previously restricted updates to a select group of non-employees, mainly YouTubers and social media influencers.
The largest wave to date of Full Self-Driving V12.4.3 has just gone out within the last twenty minutes via software update 2024.15.15. This wave includes ~1-5% of eligible vehicles.
