Tesla has unveiled its longest-range vehicle yet: a Model 3 with 515 miles of range exclusively for China. Dubbed the Model 3 Plus, it appeared in filings with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) alongside another China-exclusive Model YL, the longer wheel-base 6-seater Model Y.
According to the filing, the Model 3 Plus can achieve up to 515 miles of range depending on wheel size using China’s CLTC testing cycle. The CLTC typically yields higher numbers than WLTP or EPA standards since it is based on more city driving. The upgrade comes from a more powerful 225 kW motor and new ternary lithium-ion battery cells supplied by South Korea's LG Energy Solutions.
