Elon Musk states final design for the Tesla Cybertruck is now "locked" and the updated timeline aims to begin production in mid 2023.
Previously, Tesla targetted the production of the electric pickup to start in late 2022 in Gigafactory Texas.
Due to their focus on Model Y production, several Cybertruck design updates, and the massive chip shortage, the Cybertruck production timeline would be missed.
During an interview with the Tesla Owners Club of Silicon Valley, Musk said,
"We need to get on that [getting the Cybertruck to production]. At least, the design is finally locked. We got too carried away [with design updates]."
