Tesla is making moves in the Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) space after CEO Elon Musk tweets: "Tesla AI might play a role in AGI, given that it trains against the outside world, especially with the advent of Optimus."

Optimus (also known as Optimus Subprime) is a codename given to the Tesla Bot project given by Musk. The Tesla Bot is a humanoid robot aimed to work on general and repetitive work. It was unveiled last year during Tesla's AI Day.

Musk announced that they will have an effort to 'decentralize' control of Tesla Bots. He tweets, "Will do our best. Decentralized control of the robots will be critical".

This response was prompted from an earlier comment which claimed that Musk is going to create AGI that will turn against humanity. However, since the control of the Tesla Bots will be decentralized, it wont be accessible to an army- preventing a terminator-like scenario from happening.

Tesla continues to push the possibilities of AI and technology. From their fleet of vehicles to their great arsenal of AI talent, they continue to lead the pursuit of technological ingenuity. Musk gives a tentative timeline for the Tesla Bot with its prototype to come by the end of 2022.
