Tesla is gearing up to reintroduce the Model Y Performance with its latest Juniper design refresh. A prototype of the high-performance SUV was recently spotted testing in California near Tesla’s engineering headquarters, sparking renewed excitement.
The updated Model Y was officially unveiled in early 2025, but Tesla held back the Performance variant during the initial launch. Signs point to its imminent return, complete with styling upgrades and performance enhancements.
Expected updates include a sleeker design, ambient lighting, a rear screen, and potentially even faster acceleration than the previous 0–60 mph time of 3.5 seconds. With pricing likely in line with the previous Model Y Performance at $51,500, the new Model Y Performance is expected to hit U.S. roads within the next few months.
