Tesla has officially ended production of the Model S and Model X after 14 years, removing them from the online configurator and halting custom orders. This shift marks the end of an era for the vehicles that established Tesla's brand, with CEO Elon Musk citing a focus on future robotics and autonomy.
The remaining global inventory of roughly 600 vehicles is all that remains for purchase. To clear this stock, Tesla is offering incentives like free lifetime Supercharging and significant discounts. The production lines at the Fremont factory will now be repurposed for the manufacturing of Optimus humanoid robots.
