SnapPlate Installation
Choose Your Plate Height
SnapPlate arrives configured in the center position. If you prefer the high or low plate position, make the height adjustment before installing SnapPlate on the vehicle. Instructions are provided below.
Install Your License Plate
Attach your license plate to the SnapPlate frame using four of the included black or silver Torx security screws.
Open the SnapPlate Latches
Press and hold the right-side button to rotate the mounting latches into the open position.
Insert SnapPlate
Position SnapPlate in the center of the Model S grille. Insert the mount and release the right-side button.
Lock the Mount
Press the left-side button to rotate the latches into the closed position and engage the magnets.
Confirm the Latches Are Closed
Check that the left-side button is flush with the SnapPlate body. This confirms that the mounting latches are fully closed.
Install the Optional Security Screw
For additional security, install the included black anti-theft security screw in the opening near the left-side button. If the screw does not reach, verify that the latches are completely closed.
Before Using an Automatic Car Wash
Remove SnapPlate before entering an automated car wash. Many touchless washes may be compatible, but removing the plate mount beforehand is recommended.
Adjusting the License Plate Height
SnapPlate supports three license plate positions: High, Center, and Low. The center position is the default setting and provides the recommended appearance.
Remove the Plate Mount
Remove the two screws securing the license plate mount to the SnapPlate body.
High Position
With the SnapPlate logo on the base facing upward, align the bottom holes of the plate mount with the mounting holes in the SnapPlate body and reinstall the screws.
Center Position
With the SnapPlate logo on the base facing upward, align the center holes of the plate mount with the mounting holes in the SnapPlate body and reinstall the screws.
Low Position
With the SnapPlate logo on the base facing upward, rotate the plate mount and align its top holes with the mounting holes in the SnapPlate body. Reinstall the screws.
Install the License Plate
If the license plate has not already been installed, attach it using four of the included black or silver security screws.
